Acapulco, Mexico
There was a time in the past when the city was the center of economic activities in Mexico. It was also considered a haven for tourists who wish to be in a safe and luxurious environment. Sadly, this is no longer true for Acapulco today. It has one of the highest murder rates in the world with an average of 142 killed per 100,000 residents. The city is even filled with military personnel these days just to calm the situation down. Travel advisories are usually up in Acapulco due to its instability.
