Hunts Point
The industrial neighborhood, which is part of South Bronx, has been notorious for its high crime rate and prostitution. Steps were taken to make reputation of the place better. Funds have been given to do this and there have been improvement in other areas, although these efforts were not enough to totally make Hunts Point a safe place to live in. The rate of major crimes here is 135 per 100,000 residents. There have also been increases in the numbers of robberies, misdemeanor sex crimes, and rape.
