This area is so dangerous that it was even turned into a movie set for a violent action film which pretty much depicts the life of the people living in this area. Gang violence in Chicago is extremely rampant. When one gang member is killed, the other members will surely retaliate. For instance, gang members, Corey Morgan and Tyshawn Lee, were gunned down after convincing them to follow someone into an alley. It was said to be revenge for what Tyshawn’s father has done. As a result, more deaths occur. In 2015, there have been 465 recorded cases of homicides in the area. It went even higher in 2016. It seems like this will continue to be the trend for those who are in this area.
