By far, this is considered as the most dangerous city in Texas. It is just a short drive from Brownsville, located at the Mexican border. Imagine having a 1 in 95 chance of being raped or murdered. It is beyond alarming. The worst part is that since 2011, crimes have doubled in number. Even property crimes have increased significantly in recent years. There are a lot of dangerous neighborhoods in this city. It means that you have to be extremely careful if you decide to go there, if you should even go there to begin with.
