Great White Shark
The Great White shark (scientific name Carcharodon carcharias) is the prototypical man-eating shark of movies and nightmares. The frenzy about sharks started years before Jaws, the movie, was released. It is the biggest man-eating shark with specimens reaching 21 to 22 feet in length. It has rows of serrated teeth perfect for tearing off flesh as they attack at speeds of up to 35 mph. They account for the most number of recorded human attacks, with more than 400 attacks per year, resulting in around 74 deaths. These predators can be found in all the oceans of the world.
