San Quentin Prison
This prison has been in operation since 1852, and is the oldest prison in California. It even houses a gas chamber, although it is not used anymore. Death penalties are carried out through lethal injection. This is a prison cell that sees tons of riots all the time. It has remained a problem, and continues to be one. In 2006, a racially motivated riot started and it injured 100 inmates, even killing two. It is also known for its poor living conditions.
